Houston Rockets Star Tari Eason Sponsors P.H.A.S.E.1 Youth Basketball League

On November 24, 2024, the P.H.A.S.E.1 Youth Basketball League, proudly sponsored by Tari Eason Basketball and Bulwark Insurance Agency, further solidified its position as Jamaica's pioneering indoor youth basketball league. The league's groundbreaking partnership with Tari Eason, NBA player for the Houston Rockets, marks a transformative milestone in Jamaican basketball development. This collaboration brings structure, opportunities, and elevated competition to young athletes island-wide, propelling the sport forward.

A Personal Connection to Jamaica

Tari Eason’s connection to Jamaica runs deep. Though born and raised in the United States, Tari has always had a special bond with the island through his mother, who first introduced him to Jamaica during family vacations. These visits left a lasting impression, igniting his admiration for the culture, people, and potential of the nation. Over time, Tari became determined to give back to Jamaica, particularly by investing in its young athletes.

“Jamaica is a part of who I am, and I’ve always felt that the country has so much untapped talent in basketball. Partnering with P.H.A.S.E.1 Academy to help these young players achieve their dreams is something I’m deeply passionate about,” said Tari.

Building a Basketball Pathway in Jamaica

The partnership between Tari Eason and P.H.A.S.E.1 Academy is rooted in a shared vision: creating opportunities for Jamaican youth to develop their skills, gain exposure, and compete on an international level. P.H.A.S.E.1 Academy has been a trailblazer in Jamaican basketball, leveraging a 25-year legacy of development success. The launch of the P.H.A.S.E.1 Youth Basketball League marks a critical step in expanding that mission.

The league features two distinct levels of competition:

- Gold League: Open to all athletes who sign up, this division kicked off on November 24 in both Kingston and Montego Bay. Over the next few months, teams will battle it out in high-intensity matchups, culminating in an island-wide championship in March 2025. This league ensures that any young player with a love for the game has the chance to compete and grow.

- Platinum League: Set to begin on December 8, this elite division will feature the top 40 players from the Gold League. The Platinum League is designed to provide the best of the best with advanced competition, preparing them for collegiate and professional opportunities.

A Bright Future for Jamaican Basketball

With Tari Eason’s sponsorship and P.H.A.S.E.1 Academy’s expertise, the P.H.A.S.E.1 Youth Basketball League is more than just a competition—it’s a movement. By providing access to indoor facilities, structured leagues, and mentorship from top coaches, the league addresses key barriers that have historically hindered the growth of basketball in Jamaica.

For Tari, this initiative is about more than basketball. It’s about inspiring a generation, creating opportunities for youth to achieve greatness, and proving that Jamaican athletes can compete on the world stage. “The talent in Jamaica is undeniable. With the right resources and support, there’s no limit to what these players can achieve,” he said.

Looking Ahead

The Gold League is already underway, with young athletes in Kingston and Montego Bay bringing their energy and passion to the court. As excitement builds for the launch of the Platinum League, all eyes are on March 2025, when the inaugural island-wide championships will crown Jamaica’s top youth basketball teams.

This partnership between Tari Eason and P.H.A.S.E.1 Academy is a major step in the growth of basketball in Jamaica, one that will undoubtedly leave a lasting legacy. Through this league, young athletes are gaining more than just a chance to play the game—they’re gaining a pathway to their dreams.

Stay tuned as the P.H.A.S.E.1 Youth Basketball League continues to make history and inspire the next generation of Jamaican basketball stars.
